A question about Windows licences and media

I am trying to find out if its just the licence that is tied to a machine when using a OEM disc or the disc as well? Basically I have two computers at the moment, PC1 is one that I built myself and I have installed a OEM version of XP on it, PC2 is a pre-built from HP which has its own licence but no backup media and no backup partition on the hard drive.

I have a OEM version of Vista coming tomorrow which I am going to install on PC1 but I also want to format PC2 and reinstall XP on it. What I am trying to find out is if I can use the Windows XP disc from the other machine to reinstall XP? I am guessing so as its just a disc and every computer still has its own licence but I want to double check.

It's the cd key that's licensed, not the disc, so you can use the install media you have and put the HP cd key in just fine.
