I'm going to be upgrading to Sandy Bridge very soon :cool:

I'm thinking of getting these:




What do you think of my choice, or could i do better for my money?

I have recently bought the Crucial M4 and two Sapphire 5850 Xtreme's from a previous recommendation from you.

I also need advice on a psu to power them. At the moment i have a Corsair HX 620.

change RAM to this because its cheaper and will not be in the way of any coolers you use:

spend some of the money you have saved from the RAM on the cooler by changing it to this:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-078-TR&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=1395

its the best air cooler there is

as for the PSU, what graphics cards are you planning on using, because the corsair may be just fine

ps, sorry its not stulid, but im not bad when it comes to speccing computers.

I have recently bought 2 Sapphire 5850 Xtreme's from here.

I'm not sure if my Corsair HX 620 will handle them hence my post.
 
£109.99 on a 700W PSU? Overkill IMHO.

I'd go this, this or this.

You're practically just paying another £30-£40 for a gold sticker otherwise whereas any of the above would more than suffice.
 
That thread made me laugh. I agree, and don't at the same time. Whats the phrase?
"with great power comes great responsibility" Or so my girlfriend tells me, but If you were the guy that did the camo pants joke and got permabanned i thought that was ****ing stupid, not the joke, that crakced me up.

That'll be more than enough as well. If you want to go for that for the extra over head then go for it. I wouldn't personally spend £110 on a 700W PSU that's all.

OcUK currently don't have the XFX 750 or 850W in stock though and the ones listed aren't modular either. I'd try and go modular if you can, makes things easier and tidier.
 
I almost started to see things from Chuggerbooms perspective, maybe the mods were being a bit harsh as you can probably see from an earlier post of mine but he has been an idiot in GD again and therefore permabanned. No point anyone else wasting their time trying to help him/her/it.

The HX620w PSU is fine for that setup and the two cards, The tests I seen of 5950 Crossfire power consumption only recommend a 650W PSU and that was with a more power hungry test system

Just change the RAM to the low profile Vengeance RAM,

Leave the CPU cooler as it is, you may not find the Silver Arrow fits in your case.
