A question for the lorry drivers

Always wondered this.

Why is it, when lorries are parked up for the night, that they leave a door open on the trailer?

I've noticed that most lorries do this, but can't think why?

Is it comfortable seeping in the cabin?

Always thought it would be claustrophobic?
