Just wanted to pick the brains of the statto`s amongs us, im having a Focus ST3 3 door as a company car, with all the paperwork i have also been given a buy back option after 3 years, it will cost me 7k all in, now i dont really plan to rack up mega miles so im wondering if this will be a decent price for the motor?

Strangely enough the company that administrates the company car scheme, is actually buying the car from ford at a massivily discounted 15200, thats near 5k off list!!!

Is this a standard scheme in which you'll be paying company car tax? If so I'd imagine it's going be fairly horrendous judging by the emissions of the ST.

We were here before vertigo! its costing me £66 a month and then 85 odd for my fuel card, so i only actually pay tax on the fuel card if i want the fuel card.

As an aside i had a A3 2.0 fsi earlier in the week for a few day, they are as economical as a diesel now, pity just about everything is an option :(

I can't see you going too far wrong for £7k. IMO it'll be worth nearer £9k assuming lowish milage and spot on service history etc.

I drove a 2.0FSI before I got my TDI and preferred the diesel tbh. The 2.0 only has 10bhp more but shedloads less torque and can feel really gutless by comparison. The new turbocharged version is a different matter but I'm not sure whether I'm prepared to cough up the extra money as it would end up costing me well over £100 more per month than the diesel.

Yeah i found it a touch gutless but still not too bad, with my scheme the base model would have cost me 90 a month so i didnt bother with it in the end, but i can see why audi charge a premium over the golf.

i wonder what whatcar said a focus rs would be worth after 3 years.

personally i cannot see an st3 being sold for under 9k unless its in very bad condition.

A lot of people are buying them from brokers and Internet deals for around £2k off. That's not going to help residuals in the long term.

I recently sold my Leon Cupra R second hand with 38,000 miles on the clock, three and a half years old for £10k. I paid 17K for it from new.

I'd expect an ST 3 to be worth around £10k to £10,500 after 3 years. Depends if Ford change their mind of course and do produce an RS. Could hurt resale even more.

The st is in very short supply, brokers may claim they have stock but i bet my bottom dollar they cant get you one!

Ford cut the supply of ST's so very few brokers actually sold the ST's they advertised. Current supply of ST's is rather low. All about keeping the dealer price high (and to hide certain problems they were having with a few of the options ;) ).

There wont be a new RS, Ford cant afford it at the moment (although they did have a nice 4wd 260bhp test mule).
