I have had an idea for my next tattoo after an experience last month and have been doing a bit of research into finding the most suitable tattooist to do it.
What I want is an image of the earth as viewed from space with a black space scape behind it. I also want some other particular details in there such as a person floating above the earth, looking down on it, being the main one.
Most space/earth related tattoos I have seen have looked what can only be described as cartoon-ish. I'm looking for as close to photo realism as is possible with tattooing and this is where I'm hitting a brick wall. Finding a tattooist with something like this in their portfolio is proving difficult.
Can anyone make any suggestions or point me in the direction of somewhere?
Also, I'd like to see what they're going to do before it's inked on me. My last few tattoo's were freehanded which was fine for them but this one is important, and big (most of my upper left arm) so I want to be 100% on it. Are the tattooists likely to sketch it out exactly as they plan to do it or will they do a rough drawing before breaking out the needles?
Thanks!
