yesterday morning my pc shut down because the cpu fan had failed and i fitted a replacement today

the problem is that this new fan doesnt have a speed sensor like the other one did and i dont know if its doing its job correctly, i was getting a warning on startup that the fan was spinning too low and when i checked bios it said it wasnt spinning atall so i disabled the warning

will my pc shut down if the processor gets too hot like it did when the fan broke before? im a little worried about having the warning disabled

at the moment my processor is reading as 49c in the asus ai booster, is this temp ok for my system?

AMD Athlon™ 64 FX-57 Processor
NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GTX Extreme Edition 256MB

Thermaltake Purepower 560W Psu

300gig Maxtor SATA

Yes it should still shut down if it gets too hot.

The fan speed has no bearing on it.

i bought a Coolermaster Susurro, its nothing fancy as i just wanted something to fit with the least trouble

thanks for the info Cob :) its made me feel at ease knowing that
