A question on new networking gear.

I recently replaced a netgear DG834 for a netgear DM111P modem with a Linksys RVS4000 router. Everything seems to be working fine, necessary ports forwarded etc. However, my P2P programs have been exhibiting unusual behaviour since installing the new equipment. When I was using the DG834 I would get rubbish download speeds (i'm with Virgin Media) but upload speed would be consistent all day every day at around 45kB/s. Now, my download speed is still as bad but my upload speed drops down to around 5kB/s mid afternoon before returning to 45kB/s over night. This is not a good thing for me, I know I can't improve my download speeds but I really need the strong consistent upload speed I had before. Any ideas what I might have done wrong, or what I might need to change? (other than ISP!)

Thanks all!

No one can answer that then? :(

Oh well, i'll try another one: How can I access the DM111P modem on the network? Try as I might I just can't bring up the web dialogue. I also have a netgear WG602 Wireless access point on the network and I get get to that just fine. Advice would be greatly appreciated.

You haven't given much by way of information - what upload is slow -what the modem reports or something else you're using to measure it?
Is it the same if you go back to the DG834? What about if you just use the modem?

The modem will be on the other side of the router's WAN interface (whereas the wireless AP shouldn't be), so you won't be able to access it unless it's IP address is in a different subnet to the LAN side of the router. It might be disabled as well.
