Just a quick questions.

My PS3 is connected to my wireless router wirelessly.

I play on line games like BC2 through my PS3 fine. No lag or anything like that.

BUT, whenever I download demo games etc from the PS3 store through the PS3 it takes ages.

For eg: I downloaded Little big planet 2 demo yesterday and it took about 4 hours. I was not using the internet nor the PS3 at that time.

Just wondering is this normal, or have i set something up wrong.

Like I say, ps3 is fine playing games on line but downloading takes ages.

Thanks

Strange, when I downloaded the LBP2 demo it was running at 30mbps.
Maybe the PSN was crowded?

Online play isn't limited by PSN but by the user connections I think.

If your broadband speed isn't the best, it will take ages to d/l anything but you will be fine playing online. I know this from experience. :(

Try www.speedtest.net (or another if you know a better one) to see what speed your broadband is roughly.

Mine used to be a pathetic 0.9mbps until we fixed it. I was fine playing online with no lag, but took ages to download even relatively small updates.

Lag in online games isnt really tied to connection speed, infact you use little of your connection speed at all, latency (Ping ..) is much more important.

Downloading from the PSN will be a speed issue, rather then a latency one.

Magic I have a similar problem, it happens both wired and wireless. I'll use wired as an example, when I plug an ethernet cable into my desktop or laptop on BT Infinity Fibre I get around 37mb down and 7mb up. When I plug the cable into my PS3 the speed fluctuates but I have never seen it go higher than 20mb down and 5mb up, I'm starting to think it's the home hub cause let's be honest it's not actually known as an outstanding piece of kit and it's quite a common issue I've found after doing a google search. Check your signal strength is good, if it is do a speed test and see what speeds you're getting.
