Right I've done a bit of searching and cant find a definate answer:

Cut a long story short we have changed packages on our ISP (eclipse) due to my sister's excessive use (causing us to get capped at 256k :( ) Anyway due to our long standing membership (5+ years i think) we have swapped to a business package with a lot higher useage for no additional charge.

Anyway, our old package was rated at up to 8192kbps download speeds with up to 448kbps upload. Which i belive is the theoretical max of an ADSL1 exchange. We are pretty close to the exchange and regularly get 7000+ kbps download and easily 448kbps upload speeds.

Now our new package is rated at 20Mbps download and 1Mbps upload (which i belive is ADSL2 speeds).

My question is, that our exchange is not ADSL2 enabled, will I be seeing upload speeds of 1Mbps? I realise that our download speed will remain the same but an increased upload would really be a nice upgrade.

hopefully, it seems the theoretical max upload for an ADSL1 exhange is 1Mbps. having doubly the upload speed should be nice.
