A Quick and dirty I.M Client so can chat to AIM User

Got a friend who used a Mac and AIM and I need to chat with him.

Im running Live Messenger and has mentioned in the title, he uses AIM.

Does Messenger support, AIM, I belive it does not.

If it doesnt, can someone name a clean, free app which would allow a Messenger and AIM user to instant message.

May try trillian.

I know he could use web messenger but he'll need a hotmail/passport account.
