I have finally decided to ditch my old backup Dell from hell.

I have ordered a new case and am going I hope to get a decent PC for less than £100
I have HD and DVD/CD player so all I need is rest of bit's - My intention was to get a AMD am1 chip and motherboard but during searching I came across a FM2 quite cheap.

So my question is which of these two is latest technology and which would suit my needs - It's only for wife and myself to surf net and look at HD Youtube or videos.

As I say it's a back up as I already have a decent PC and the Dell was doing my head in being so slow.

I think the AM1 chips are pretty nippy for this sort of thing, but if you go for an FM2 APU you might be able to play a couple of basic games on low settings a bit more easily :)

If the FM2 chip is dirt cheap go for that, otherwise the AM1 is cheaper + fine for your requirements

Has the AM1 chip got the on board graphics on it ?- I notice the Micro motherboards don't have them on or that's how it reads to me.

Knowing my luck I would buy both only to find I need a graphics card.

Thanks

Dave

Yes they do and the boards do have display connectors.
