Am currently very close to buying one of these for my Mondeo. The TDCi engines seem to respond rather well and a not inconsiderable power hike is available..

Power up from 130 to 165ish bhp
Torque up from 330 to 400nm
Fuel economy will most likely stay the same

Have researched both remapping and tuning boxes and I think the boxes seem a better idea. I'd like to stress I'm not getting a £5 power resistor of doom, but a tuning box from a company with a LOT of good feedback (DTUK).

Was wondering if anybody out there had experience with these things, good or bad, I'm all ears, on any type of car, tho preferrably a diesel, and if I'm picky, a Ford one...

have a look at bluefin, had a mate put one on his Focus ST, was real easy plug and play, and made a good diffrence.

The problem I have with the bluefin is that it's more expensive than a remap and double the price of a tuning box...

Not that I'm the stingy sort, but if I can get similar performance whilst saving £250+, I will, besides, that saving buys me 2500miles of diesel!

you can sell bluefin afterwards though surely?
It can't be used on another vehicle unless you "undo" the map. The new owner has to send it to Bluefin who will then swap it for a new one / reset it fully.

If i sell it on after I've used it, then I loose the ability to return my car to its original settings (for whatever reason) and thus may end up royally screwed...
