I'm fed up of sites telling me to "upgrade to Firefox."

"This site views best in Firefox."

"Internet Explorer doesn't show this site properly - use Firefox. It's Free!"


NO! **** off.

Stop being lazy and code your site to work cross-platform.

Better yet, get off your anti-Microsoft high horse and accept that IE7 is a bloody good browser, and was better (imho) than FF2.

Besides, Opera is better than Firefox (imho).... so **** off!

I instantly leave the site if I see these. It reminds me of the "site best viewed at 1024x768". No site is ever important enough to dictate how I should view it.

Developers waste countless hours needlessly, which is why they encourage internet users to switch to a standards compliant browser. I don't see how that is a problem for you. If you leave pages because of this then more fool on you.

Would you drive on a road that said for x users only?

I don't like being told what to do.
