Hey peeps, I like my current psu along with it been ozc, but its loud...i dont see how a campany can put silent in a products name when it really isnt! So im wanting to replace it with something suitable for none sli so something like the Corsair HX 620W which iv been told is a well made all round psu which is really is almost silent.

Id like to know what you guys think is the quietest psu on the market atm, not bothered about cost really just needs to be silent.

thanks

p.s or can i change my psus fan?

If you don't care what it costs and want complete silence there are entirely passive PSUs around as well as PSUs that can be attached to you water cooling system, if you have one.

Depending on your needs a good choice might be the Deltatronic Silentium! SPS420A.

EDIT: That said, the Corsairs are pretty much inaudible from about two feet anyway. I personally wouldn't sacrifice all that money and performance for one or two dB.

Tricky one, Tagan's dual 80mm setup isn't bad, it's RPM controlled by electrical load on the PSU.

I'm not sure if Tagan's single 120mm units are the same.

It just sounds like my psu fan is on full blast 24 7 and im getting random lockups but orth is stable for over 3 hrs and can run all 3dmarks no problems along with ntube performance test!

going to try and find some reviews now...cheers guys

I'd say a Corsair HX.

I did have my PC running on just my 120mm Scythe Ninja fan & my PSU fan, I had to try and hear the computer... I couldn't hear it at all over my typing.

Thats good to hear, just been speaking to a mate he said there is a known problem with 8800s which squeal and whine under load so it may not be on psu locking up my pc after all, either way its still to loud and id like to replace it.
