Right following on from my thread when my PSU (Hyper) went POP I am now expecting a delivery from OcUK of a new CPU/Mobo and memory.
Now this is where I need your help.....
I have reinstalled xp pro before without any problems. But this is a new one..
My hard drives are ok, they didn't die with the rest of the rig.
before my pc went pop my OS (XP Pro sp3) was installed on my 74gb raptor.
Now that still has data on it which I need.
Can I when installing windows, partition that drive as there was still about 35gb free if i recall correctly. then install the new OS in the new partition or not.
Or should I just put a small hd in there and install OS then grab the data from the raptor ?
Other option is borrowing a friends external HD enclosure and copy everything over to a external drive from the raptor then fresh install of OS onto the raptor.
Which is better or wont it make no difference.
