Hey all,

A friend of mine is studying art, and was researching for 'artists or craftspersons that use flowers', one contempary, one historical, to base a 3000 word essay and accompanying presentation on.

I could only suggest Vincent van Gogh (the Sunflower paintings), for the historical person, but not being very arty, I was clueless as to who to suggest for a more contempary one.

Any ideas very welcome. :)

Andy Goldsworthy immediately sprang to mind as a well-known and highly respected contemporary flower-using artist [Though I prefer his work with stones and leaves].

[EDIT: unless, by 'using', you mean as a subject not a medium. In which case, the world of greetings cards is your golden oyster ;)]
