Have been on codeine phosphate tablets for many years, have lowered the dosage at times, then usage would creep back up again. Finally decided to go cold turkey and aside, from putting it mildly, an upset stomach the withdrawal hasn't been too bad, a few chills and runny nose.

Then last night I fell over twice trying to use the toilet standing up, it is linked to vertigo I sometimes have the misfortune to suffer, spent the day feeling sick and dizzy. I have now figured out I get it if I sleep on my left side, so there is something I can do about that problem.

Add to that, 2 of my spinning drives failed on my RAID array, and it's not been a good couple of days.

BPPV https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases...PPV causes brief episodes of,or sit up in bed.

Can be eased by physio to move the moving ear particles to a non spinny part of the ear.

Well, rather than smacking my head off hard surfaces in the toilet, my father offered a simple yet elegant solution. Am now using a guzunder, no need to leave the bedroom or even stand up.

The good news is with withdrawals from codeine is every day it get's a little easier, stick to it.

I've been on codeine for many many years (around 17 now) cannot function without it. Was involved in a bus accident when I was younger leaving me with perm brain damage, always have a headache that never goes away. Without codeine I cannot get out of bed or look at anything with light coming from it. With codeine it's still there but more of a "pressure" that I have gotten used to over the years. Nothing they can do to cure it. Take morphene regularly aswell.
