What is the cooler like on the 970 OC. Are the temps and acoustics much worse than the MSI or Strix equivelants. Surely you pay for the performance so the low price tag worries me.

Yes MSI and Asus are better performers for sure and quieter as they are practically twice the size.

But it seems that the cheapest option to Ireland is 9£ (whereas postage to my old UK address is free), which combined with the extra VAT, makes the GTX 970 pretty darn expensive at over 330 euros. Even expensive places like **** here can match that price!

I believe so, but I'd stick with another reference card and bear in mind all the reference cards are the same.

And they're based in Ireland rather than the UK.

I know you can't control VAT, but the shipping makes it a bitter pill.

They have no stock mate, I can't match a company with no stock. Really if they are based in Ireland then we really cannot compete with them. If we had a warehouse in Ireland then yes we could but unfortunately we do not.
