It would be cool to have a system about the size of a N64 as good as the one I have now, but getting ready to move from this cursed town. Need to save $. System is
EVGA. nForce 650i ultra Intel Core 2 Duo Wolfdale E8200 2.66GHz
6MB Cache Dual Core 1333MHz 2 Gig DIMM-DRAM NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS with 512 DDR3 memory (PCIe 1.00 x16) 2 HDDs & 2 DVD drives.

If you used 2.5" HDDs and limited yourself to a 5570 and one optical drive you could do it. There are some decent small book style cases.

But shrinking a system and saving money while doing it?

generally going small puts up the price abit

so saving money will be difficult.

one option could be to get a slightly bigger micro-atx case. Then u'll be able to get a small motherboard with simlar specs and use your existing componants.

or, if you really want a small case, how about this

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-004-ZT&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=1436

then you can use this mitx motherboard

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-004-ZT&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=1436

and get an i3 cpu and ddr3 to go with it and try to sell your existing componants.

u'll need a low profile graphics card thou, like

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-226-SP&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1699

althou i doubt a full system would work out all that cheap
