If I've already bought hosting and a domain name from a company, can I buy another domain name that links to, say a folder within the current hosted website. Or do I have to buy a whole new hosting package?

It says "Point Unlimited Domains to your Webspace" but this is more commonly known as "parked domains", where domain2.com == domain1.com. However it's kinda cryptic so it might mean you can "point another domain name to a folder in your webspace" - ask them :)
 
It looks like you have some sort of domain forwarding options - try poking around with those.

Edit: Actually, I have no idea what you have - go for a poke around in the control panel and see what it lets you do for the domain. You want to look for something along the lines of domain fowarding / frame forwarding / park domain / add domain to existing hosting. Something along those lines methinks.
 
I think it takes 24 hours to process the order because in the email confirming payment they said they'd send me a 'welcome guide' email when the order was completed, the domain is also marked unregistered in the control panel.

I would go for the hosting, but they don't say if they charge £2.08/month of take £30 for the year straight out of your account.

Domain registrations should be processed fairly instantly after payment, though with larger companies the steps/system are probably more complicated so it takes more time for them to process I suppose. But once registration is submitted, all domains take ~24 hours to correctly show up as this is the rough frequency of updates of domain name information across the intarweb :)
