Hi,

Recently I rebooted my computer from Ubuntu into Windows XP Pro. It had been working fine without problems for ages. BSOD comes up and I reboot.

Upon rebooting the HDDs are no longer detected in the BIOS. I try reinstalling Windows and Ubuntu on the primary HDD and it works but upon rebooting, the HDDs are still not seen in the BIOS.

I tried flashing the BIOS, clearing the CMOS and also taking out the MoBo battery for a good wee while. None of which have changed anything.

I have tried booting up with an Ubuntu LiveCD and I can still mount both HDDs and also access files on them perfectly, e.g. play music, view pictures, etc.

So i'm a little stuck here. I'm on the verge of just going all out and buying a new MoBo, CPU and RAM (my current MoBo is socket 939). However, if I can avoid spending money I'd like to.

My specs are:

Gigabyte K8NF-9 (Rev 1) Motherboard
2 (512x4) GB Corsair Value Select 3200 RAM
MSi GeForce 256MB 8600 GT
NEC DVDRW
Tagan 450W Whisper PSU
160GB Hitachi Deskstar HDD (main OS HD)
250 GB Samsung Spinpoint HDD (backup)

Any help is greatly appreciated :)

Thanks
