A small upgrade

So after waiting many many months for Steamroller to appear, I have finally decided I can wait no longer to upgrade.

I have used the spec in my sig for nearly fours years and I have always been happy with it, as you can tell I am not an extreme user. Plan is for my son to have the kit below so the younger son gets a look-in on the main PC.

Having read most of the 8XXX thread(s), I have decided a FX8320 and a ASUS M5A99x Pro is the way to go.

The Pro over the EVO means I get more flexibility to run 2 GPU's going forward, does it have any down sides, the price is very similar.

Consensus seems to be that the 8350 has very little benefit over the 8320.

Anyone not agree?

I also plan to use this cooler? Will it be ok to say run a 4.2-4.4 overclock?

Or should I get the 212 Evo?

Before I order any issues/comments?

The 990FX Pro board is £120, so it's a bit expensive, and out of stock at the moment. It is a very good board though. The 990X EVO R2.0 board is £104 and almost as good.

For overclocks at 4.5GHz or less there's no point in getting an 8350.

The CM EVO 212 cooler is fine for about 4.4-4.5GHz, but a decent £30 cooler is more likely to get you to 4.6-4.7GHz. I'd recommend a minimum of 4.5GHz on the CPU to get the most out of it, and pretty much all 8320s on a suitable board can do that.

The H80/100 is noisy without replacement fans, and is overkill for 4.5GHz OC.

The EVO cooler will do 4.5GHz, but it's pushing it.

I've read some good things about Raijintek coolers. Most of the reviews I've found for them appear to indicate their performance is much better than the price bracket.
