Hi there!

The criteria as per title please. It doesn't have to be mega expensive. Something that is compatible (Android) and can run Google Fit. This app clocks daily move minutes and mileage. When I'm doing chores around the house, the house wi-fi would pick up my smartwatch movement without needing the carry the phone on me. Then when I'm outside walking, the phone in my backpack would take over using mobile data.

If I'm outside with both the phone and the watch, do the fitness apps generally record my movements just once, without any duplications going on. So e.g. I walk 2 miles and the devices collectively clock up 2 miles, not 4?

Thanks :-)

Have to say i much prefer the Samsung health app but i guess its a personal thing. i have used both android os and Samsung tizen. i much prefer Samsung tizen in conduction with Samsung health.

I have the Samsung galaxy s20 ultra paired with a samsung galaxy active 2 and even when you have the phone and watch it uses the watch rather than the phone.
I use mine to track my sleep, track my steps.distance, activity, heart rate ect ect.
Some videos you might find helpful and it might help your choice in watches.

Health Sync for Android
Samsung Health data can be synced across to Google Fit, FitBit, and others with Health Sync for Android running in the background.

I'm still new to Google Fit and didn't know about Samsung Health and Health Sync, so I'll give both fitness apps for a week or so with Health Sync in tow. I'll watch the videos now in the meantime and see what sees 'fit'... pun intended :D

Hey there :-)

After having a good think about this, I ended up going for a used Samsung Galaxy Watch (SM-R800) for £155. Should arrive in a few days time. Being my first piece of wearable tech, I thought that second hand but recent(ish) was my best bet. Then once I'm used to it, my next model in a couple of years time will be the next Samsung model.

you will enjoy your new watch. as i have said in other posts i have now turned of the aod on my ultra since im wearing my watch no need to have it on both lol.

Have you got your watch yet ? How you getting on with it?

I have been using the Mi bands with mine and they sync to Google fit nicely, cracking value for ~20quid, My Mi scale syncs through same app to Google fit, I have started to use Samsung Health recently but only because my blood pressure kit logs nicely there and it generates good report output for the doctors, so I started to use the healthsync app to sync to from fit to SHealth, works well.

I recently upgraded to an Amazfit GTR which doesn't sync with Google fit which I initially found annoying until I discovered that Mi Fit will sync with the GTR which will then sync with Google fit which will then sync with Shealth through Health Sync, confused yet :D As mad as it sounds it all works like a charm and I can enjoy a a month or so battery life from my gear as the mi/amazfit things have low resource requirements being quite dumb smart watches :D and collate all my infos through SHealth, nice to have it all in one place, shame all hardware doesn't adopt one standard for this.
