Afternoon all,

a quick question regarding sqaurespace. My brother wants me to make him a simple website for his business, easy peasy.I have sent him over some designs and hes happy. He's thinking about using square space for the hosting. not quite sure why but thats what he has his mind set on. ive had a little look on their site and it seems. if you want to use it as basically that you have to pick their middle package which allows you access to developer tools. Which with my basic understanding basically allows you to do what ever you want to your site much like if you were just making one normally. Is this correct ? Also want to add in a animated svg or swf > html5 and i presume i can do that using this method ?

cheers for any help.

I don't think you need the middle 'Professional' level package to edit the basic html and css, even though that's what it says. So I imagine you can embed svg and html5. Although you will probably need the middle package if you're doign a complete design from scratch and not using one of their templates.

I have two sites on the old version of squarespace so my pricing and plans are legacy now, but on the starter package you could edit the core html and add your own css. I think you did need to upgrade to the middle package to edit the pre body html code though and do anything much more than basic editing of the code in the main body.

They have a completely free 2 week trial though I think, so just sign up and give it a go. I remember when switching between account levels in the past it used to warn me if features I had used/needed would be deactivated or made available upon downgrading/upgrading. I've found their support pretty good too :)
