A starters gaming package

as with all kids, they want everything and expect it to cost £50

So, the user is 14, wants a "gaming PC" for things like BF4 and Minecraft, he also wants the ability to record his own minecraft tutorials and YouTube 'em (don't they all these days?, i don't get it, but meh!)

The budget is just £500 and for that he would ideally like the whole package ready to go, right down to speakers and a gaming headset.....but as an ex computer builder i am trying to persuade him to grab the best bang-per-buck and add to it later.

so, as I'm well out of the loop these days (and a devout mac user now :p ) can you guys recommend:

Motherboard & processor
memory (no idea on speed these days, but a match for the cpu/board)
graphics card (hdmi advantageous & powerful enough to run BF4/MC?!?)
hdd (1tb)
psu (suitable power for recommended hardware)
case (cheapy will do)
gaming keyboard & moose
windoze (8, I guess)

all (heh) for around £500(and under if poss??)

Monitor is not important at this point

I have read a few other peoples requests in here for an idea of whats hot, but still left none the wiser

thanks guys

Maybe you could use the Win10 technical preview? that is what im currently using and I play BF4 every night and it works fine.

The only way to get cheaper is with an inferior GFX card or FX4300 CPU, but you need stuff like above to run BF4 well and have a good experience with decent fidelity.

Stulid, thanks for the reply, thats great!

at least I know what I'm looking at now :)

with regard to the win 10 preview, how long does that last until Microshaft whip it away?

Not sure, but I have been using it since it came out (but have done two complete re-installs in that time as I swap parts around a lot).
