Someone who I have never met or spoken too but play tf2 on the same server with just bought me Player Unknown Battlegrounds as a gift. Such a nice thing to do and I was naturally very happy.

Just thought I would share this feel good story . Has this happened to anyone else ?

Yeah my brothers friend bought me Rust out of the blue. Only problem is I played it and grew to dislike it very quickly, so now I feel a bit guilty I don't play it after he bought it for me to play with them :(.

That's a nice compliment! Shows he enjoyed teaming up with you and enjoyed playing games with you.

Specially in such a team focused game!

Bought a game to say thanks to a guy who let me join a local teamspeak group and play siege with. as all my friends only played consols. He was over the moon as he couldnt aford it due to being out of work. Was only like £10. Felt good to do it.

Humble bundle is great for this. The monthly has some very decent "golden oldies" if you don't already have em (X-com 2 and total warhammer being a couple nearer the start of this year. It's 1 oldish AAA game, 1 oldish A+ game and a handful of indies for £9 a month, join/leave as you wish).

when you subscribe to humble bundle are the members bundles different to the ones they advertise via email??

often wondered if it was worthy of subscribing to

There's the humble bundles (usually based around a theme like a developers back catalogue/whatever) and the monthly. The monthly they advertise the headline title, when you sub for the month you get the rest of the titles and the headline title at the end of the month.

Here's the monthly's so far. So in each case the first title you get at the END of the month, the rest you get at the start.
You can sub, get that months deal and unsub so... it's based on if you want the main title (generally). I was in for the X-com and total warhammer (had both but gifts for friends/relatives and the rest of the stuff included was decent). For the price... it's generally pretty (damn) good.

thnx for that, it does actually look to be quite good value in a few of those bundles. well worth it i reckon

Nice of him that, but I would find it very strange, though I am getting cynical in my old age.

I wonder if anyone on my friends list would like to buy me a HTC Vive..

I wish someone would buy me games, but alas they don't. That being said my steam library is huge, and I still have yet to even try 3/4 of the games.

I've bought friends and my bro games I thought they'd like. Just not full price AAA titles. I've also given codes to my nephew such as DOOM3 but then I had a bunch of them from GPU purchases :)

Good team players are invaluable so it's probably worth encouraging someone to move over to a new title.
