A Stokie LAN event - gauging interest

Was thinking we could all chip in and maybe get a hotel confererence room for a day or weekend and have a great big LAN event, PC and console in Stoke perhaps before the end of the year.

Games wise looking at stuff like;

Battlefield 2 - PC
CS: Source - PC
PES 08 - PC/PS3/X360
World in Conflict - PC
Halo 3 - X360
C&C 3 - PC

Or pretty much anything else that gets enough interest. Would like help from anyone who has good experience withing LANing and networking in general,

Anyone interested?
 
Just dont go to the Marriott hotel in Leicester!

I used to work there and the biggest room they had, which could hold about 250 people cost £6000-£7500 to rent for the whole day!! Maybe even more, cant remember the exact price.
 
Hmmmm.

These sort of things are usually very tricky to organise.

Need to find a friendly to get to location, the right size etc... Often turns out to be very expensive, unless people happen to know/or have a large space available.

Also dates of such events can be tricky to plan.

Good luck with it though.
 
You might want to check out StaffsGaming - I first heard of them when some guys at Staffs uni were trying to organise an event (which sadly never took place), but you might be able to garner some interest by the people there at least.

100 player lan, 26-28th october, Alsager Campus near stoke. Following event is next January iirc. But theres still plenty of time to sign up to the one this month. You'll find a few other ocuk members there, although I think under different names (Everyone there knows me as Jay :p)

Plenty of gaming there, sponsorship from Thermaltake, Crucial and Steelseries. Competitions, and various Halloween fun!

Would be awesome to see a few more ocuk'ers there :)
