I have a strange problem when using my PS3 and I can't quite put my finger on where the problem is coming from. I have my PS3 connected via a HDMI cable into a Sony LCD-TV and for 99% of the time I have no problems with it.
Yet about once every couple of days the picture on my TV goes blank and I get a picture that looks like the screen you see when you switch to a channel which isn't tuned in. (The black and white dots flicking across the screen.)
This problem lasts for a couple of seconds and then returns to the normal picture again. Seeing as the problem is so minor and infrequent I haven't really been too bothered to sort it out but I thought I would post here mainly to cure my curiosity.
I don't think its any thing to do with the power as my PS3 has never crashed and a lapse of power would surely turn off or reset the machine. My first thought would be that the HDMI cable could be faulty but I am not too sure, as I say it only happens for about 2 seconds once every day or two.
Its also worth pointing out that I use the LCD-TV for PS2 (Component) and PC (VGA) and have never seen this problem with either of these connections.
Any ideas?
