I am having random freezes (rarely) in Ubuntu 10.04, did in 8.04 to. I have been over at the Ubuntu forums try to figure this out with the others at the Ubuntu forums. This is a common prob. there is a topic about random freezes with 101 pages, no one can connect a source. I just had a thought a few ago, it is crazy, but could Gnome be the prob.? I have 2.30.2.

More likely to be a hardware problem Ed. Just because a random freeze thread has 101 pages doesn't mean anything. If every person who had a hardware issue posted in a thread it'll be pretty big. Stress test you machine for say 12 hours solid. There's even a thread on stress testing 2 threads down.

So you've decided to recreate it here, but with 101 threads instead? :p

I count at least two earlier threads, started by yourself, on this very topic.

Why start yet another?

Sorry, ya pointless thread. I was looking through syslog & found this dated a few days back. iomem range 0x0-0x9ffff could not be reserved so looks like one of my month old sticks is bad.
