A subtle matter of choke.

I'd like some opinions on this.

I'm on O2 llu at the Belfast Cregagh Exchange.

I play a lot of Team Fortress 2. Last sunday afternoon I started experiencing high amounts of choke, around 50 in fights. This basically destroys your hit detection and makes the game a bit of a futile gesture.

So anyhoo I was hoping it would fix itself and it didn't. After doing the usual router reset, try another router, try another pc dance I went to a neighbours house (1 street behind) also on o2 llu on the same exchange. The issue is the EXACT same on their pc. I should note that I believe TF2 requires a lot more data than most online games and I've noticed in CS:S beta and L4D2 i experience little to zero choke.

This rules out any fault my end of things and narrows it down to my exchange or the network as a whole.

I've been speaking to an o2 fella on the forums and despite us both agreeing it seems likely to be a network issue he's done the usual line test and he set my noise margin to 9db (I didn't tell him I can actually change this myself with my 585v6 router and DMT).

So the line test is running now and of course changing the noise margin did bugger all to the choke issue.

So err anyone with the knowledge hae any clue what is going on? It appears to me that something (most likely at my exchange) has gone wonky and my upload packers are getting bottlenecked somewhere along the line.
