A supercharged clio v6

It's fast but it sounds really unhealthy

What is that wierd fluttering noise when he lifts off the accelerator?

Is that awful screech at high revs one of the belts slipping? Can't be good surely? (Don't know much about engines!)

Looks like a cool gearbox though!

If it was mine I'd remove all of the stickers, mods (external) and sort the engine (so it runs smoothly but leave the supercharger) so it looked stock but moved

Not too keen on the stickers myself either, especially at the back. It sounds a lot like a belt screeching to me as well, and with the high revs/high boost its probably the supercharger belt, although thats a guess.

corr, thats one serious bit of kit, looks horrific, but obviously a lot of money has gone into it, seems a bit of a waste to me, as wasnt the v6 not that great a car?

Shame about the charger's belt squeel. hideous styling and racing through residential areas :(

Supercharger drive belts are slipping at higher rpm's... need to run better belts on it IMHO...

But standalone Motec management, sequential box, motec race dash, billet 6 pot brakes, thats one hell of a road car/track tool if he gets it well sorted...

Its gonna sound rough as any car with all the sound deadening stripped out does...

:D

It wasn't anything like the car it could/should have been. Considering what you sacrifice to get the mid mounted V6, it needed to have some serious performance/handling advantages over the FWD versions to justify it's price tag. However, it's not that much quicker than the 172 in a straight line, and in the real world I suspect the 172 would probably be quicker due to the original V6's rather wayward handling. The revised version was supposed to be a bit better though.

That's how that engine should have come from the factory :D

Styling sucks, but Kudos for the engine and gearbox work. Very nice.

This I am aware of :p

However it should have at least some soundproofing between the engine and the driver, in this case someone stuck a bloody great supercharger on so you can replace the standard quilted pacelshelf thingy over the engine space thus making it even noisier.
