hey Guys!

I am trying to figure out a technique in Photoshop, where you can have a black and white image, but certain colours or certain items are still in colour!

If you are not sure what I mean here is a link to an image with it in action!

Image!

Thanks you OCUK Photographers!

Selective colouring?

Google that with Photoshop on the end and you'll find many guides. :)

to remove color, then add it back in specific places :

Open pic in photoshop > Image > adjustments > desaturate ... this will leave the pic in black and white!!
Although i think the contast looks better if you us: image > adjustments > channel mixer > then tick monochrome...

Then:

In the tool pallete select history undo > carefully go over the selected part of the pic and the original color will be restored to that part only !!! :p

changing channel mixer to monochrome certainly looks better i'd say.

Another nice trick to adjust it beforehandto make the entire image red (for example) then change to mono and you can paint bits back in in red no matter what orginal colour.

then go back to original, do it again in gree / blue.

print a few, wow, it's art! :p
