a top notch SATA External Enclosure which one help ?

hi all i just bought an icy box this one

and to be honest its not to good why you ask, 2 problems

P1 this drice does not work with 2 of my sata 1 maxtor drives it will not even try to power them up and i know its not the drives as i have tried them on my motherboards sata plugs. (works with my Sata 2 samsung f3 perfectly byt teh way so teh enclosure works)

P2 i am using eSATA from the enclosure and when windows is booted i plug the drive in as i have it selected as hot plug swap but the transfers are 30mb a sec which is about usb 2 speed, If i turn the drive on first then the computer the drive then will transfer at 100mb as sec but why does it not do this when i use hot plug ?

these 2 problems are getting on my wick and wanted to know if there is a better SATA External Enclosure that supports esata usb2 or 3 that lests you swap the drives in the enclosure as i am going to be sending this back, I thought icy box where the best ?

anyone

i seemed to fixed the 2nd problem you need to power the drive up first then plug it in and not plug it in then power it up

but the first problem i just can not get it to work with a sata 1 drive
