Hey guys,

im really considering changing my setup and going for a Ryzen build.

the main reason is that I have had my eye on a R7 1700 for a bit now, and also going to AMD for GPU by waiting for Vega and use the great FREESYNC monitor that I currently own..

My main question is that how will a Radeon R9 270 (2gb) hold up for a month or two till we get vega? Bearing in mind I dont mind low-mid graphics, at a OK FPS but it is just to hold me over until VEGA.

Can someone please shed some light on this, and if it seems like a decent solution..?

Cheers

That graphics card won't get any older in month or two than it is already.
Neither should it include counter which makes it break down or slow down before that...

I just don't understand why anybody would consider such a move. By all means buy vega when it finally comes out to make use of your Freesync monitor but why go from a 7700k to Ryzen? Seem's like a waste of money to me.

I like to have a lot of apps open and do some multitasking as well as gaming, and find my 7700k a little..I don't know?

Could I maybe need more ram then rather than cpu??

The 7700k is another cpu that see's a significant performance boost (up to 20%) with 3000mhz+ memory. Is it overclocked? When you built it did you do a fresh install of windows?

No it's not overclocked, and yeah I did a fresh install. I have decided to keep my mobo and cpu, going to get a new case and some aio cpu cooling. I will do a fresh install of w10 and maybe try a little of..

I am going to sell my 1070 and get a stop gap card till vega is launched, I don't mind dialling down settings for a month or so for my games..

Keep your system until it becomes unbearingly slow and upgrade. Save your money.

Yeah, gonna keep it mate.
