I have just seen the trailer for this on Sky One(I would post it here, but can't seem to find it). Is anyone else planning on watching it?

Basically it is a 2 hour long Detective spoof written by Charlie Brooker, and it looks hilarious. It is due on In August on Sky One.

A Touch of Cloth is an all-encompassing parody (1 x 120 minutes) of every police procedural ever written. It stars John Hannah (The Mummy, Spartacus) as DCI Jack Cloth - a maverick, heavy drinking loner who has thrown himself into his work following the mysterious death of his wife. The damaged, haunted Cloth is teamed with plucky no-nonsense sidekick DC Anne Oldman, played by Suranne Jones (Coronation Street, Unforgiven).
Together the pair investigate a series of increasingly grisly murders and find themselves on the trail of a devious killer. As you do. If you’re a detective.

The case leads Cloth and Oldman from leafy forests to sinister lock-ups, from the luxury home of an arrogant TV chef to the cold dissection rooms of vampish forensic pathologist Natasha Sachet (Daisy Beaumont), packing in as many jokes as humanly possible along the way.

Their boss, A.C.C. Tom Boss, played by Julian Rhind-Tutt (Green Wing, The Hour) repeatedly demands results, fast. No, faster than that. Faster! Slow down. Not that much. Hold it there. Yeah, precisely that fast.
Charlie Brooker + John Hannah = WIN!

I am really looking forward to this, it looked really funny from the promo, and I have pretty much loved everything Brooker has ever done:)

Love Charlie Brooker, and so far the title doesn't disappoint (insert childish laughter here)

Edit - Did Brooker write that Tony Blair spoof that was on at the start of the year?

"You're coming apart at the seams cloth":D

This trailer has made me laugh more than anything else I have seen this year! I believe it is on at the end of the month.

Anyone else giggle like a child at the title?

I had to explain to females why I was roffling when I first saw the advert for it :o It still causes me to laugh when I read it.

Edit - Oh I see, it's actually a spoof, kinda makes sense now...

Is there one that says "This **** won't wash Cloth"?

I actually now officially love Charlie Brooker. Initially, years ago, I hated him, but for reasons I can't now explain I had an overnight ephinany a long while back and now think he is one of the best satirists we have, I think it must have tripped a cynical acceptance trigger in my brain. Easily the best thing aboutt he 10 o'clock show and Twitter. And he gets to have it away with Konnie Huq for flips sake.

Oh good it is a spoof, we saw the trailer repeatedly throughout an 8 hour Olympic TV session a couple of weekends back. We were all hung over and weren't quite sure what to make of it - other than causing stitches of laughter.

I thought it was hilarious, can't wait for tonights. It has to be re-watched, as there was just far too much to notice in one sitting.

I especially liked the opening credits, which just consisted of John Hannah looking to the side repeatedly. And julian rhind-tutt, and his character were also a highlight.

Oh, and they did the name to death....brilliant!:D
