Hello all,

You know I've been putting off building a new gaming rig for ages. I've made do with anything I've been able to cobble together for years. There is a shift in the tectonic plates though, Skyrim. I love the series and have been a hardcore fan - relative to my dedication to any other game or game franchise - since the days of Morrowind.

Yeah so, I need to build a rig. I do, however, need a case. As the title would suggest, SS fancies a tower.

I was looking at the Coolermaster HAF X and I was very impressed with the reviews, the style and the sheer cooling ability of that bad boy. I LOVED the look of the Cosmos but the cooling ability there wasn't really up to the HAF X.

I was looking for other alternatives cause it's bleedin' expensive. Are there any other comparable Tower cases out there with good airflow and a clever design?

Thank you muchly folks in advance for your wisdom.

Have a looks at the CM ATCS 840 m8 similar cooling to the Haf X but a much better looking case and removable mobo tray.

thought of a cm stacker (although you may have to mutilate some cable routing holes into it :)

Yeah, I'm quite impressed with that actually... cheers dude! Never had one of the fabled removable motherboard trays... why don't more cases have them? Seems like an obvious improvement that wouldn't cost much to impliment.

Thats a good question, and one I do not know the answer too.

Presumably it does cost a lot to implement, compared to cut and bent sheet steel/ali.

My choice would be the raven or the TJ11, but the TJ is well out of budget. A TJ07 should be okay though.

The xigmatech elysium is pretty massive and fairly well priced.

Well cost is relative I suppose, but given the amount that feature is desired and with that the premium potentially that could be extracted from enthusiasts willing to pay for said feature against how much it'd actually cost to impliment and mass produce... I'd say there's a bizzare gap in the market there. But then, what do I know about constructing steal / aluminium boxes? Nowt.

I'll take a dix of these suggested when i get home dudes.

I believe there is a new Cosmos coming out very soon. I wouldn't bother with a TJ07 unless you go for watercooling, it really isn't suited for it, same goes for the 800D. If you are looking for something more refined I would definitely for a FT02 as it is a real beast at air cooling. You won't be disappointed with the ATCS 840, a real classic case and the removable motherboard tray makes life a lot easier.

Thanks for that mate, that's what I've ended up ordering. Not in stock at OC's though. :( Looks like a truly wonderful case, just a little classier than the HAF X eh? :)

Actually, had a bit of a change of heart. I've gone with the HAF x afterall. The removable motherboard tray and Aluminium materials were HUGE draws for me but the HAF X just offers more in the way of routing options and cooling.

Thanks for your help anyway guys.... already ordered that case too, will need to send it back, I'm sure the delivery dude will love me! :)
