Looks like i'm finally having one of these beasties winging its way over to me, and i'm after some info on which steppings and weeks are decent clockers. I've had an hour or two of searching myself and have come up with virtually zero results. Would be much appreciated if anyone could come up with something :)

no point for me - i started off with a sempron 3100, 6800 NU and a DFI 250gb, then instead of spending shed loads on a new 939 motherboard and cpu just for PCIe graphics, i went with a s754 PCIe board, 7800gtx and 3700 claw.

This will now see me through til it's time to go AM2 :)

You can get these in the UK now. A major online retailer is going to stock them for £215.91 and should have stock in 1-2 weeks. Now that is tempting as i know how good these are at overclocking.

As i have said before there is very little to gain from swapping to 939 if you already have a 754 rig. Dual channel memory and thats it. 2-5% performance increase, thats all. 754 is still a good buy and is more than fast enough.

Indeed they are sir :D

Methinks it's time for a drain and refill of the ol' trusty water cooling for when it arrives.

Ah, didnt think about the Mobiles... They are suppose to clock very well. The 3400+ Mobiles clocked well. Cant find any results atm but can remember looking at some.

Even though you still have a skt PCI-E board, does'nt it still have single channel mem? That must hurt in performance.

In theory, it should. But it never really translates into a particularly huge difference - the 939 Venice setup a friend is running at 10*270 isn't a whole lot quicker than my 754 Venice running the same CPU speed.

Not really. Around 2-5%, thats all. You can make that up by overclocking and the 1mb L2 helps as well.

You can't call these scores lacking in performance:-

3dmark06=6095 marks.
3dmark05=11824 marks.
3Dmark03=27897 marks.

Also 89999 for Aquamark3 which i can't post a link.

Things should get even better in a day or so when my Gskill HZ 2gb kit arrives. :D

couldn't agree more lol

This 4000+ IS going to be my last bit of expensive silicone until it's time for a new build.

My missus will slap me if i buy anything else :/

Let us know how you get on with it. If it's any better than my 3700+ then i will have to get one. Good job my other half knows bugger all about pc's. I passed off 2ghz of Gskill HZ @£152 for a gig of value pc3200 for £46. I got 2x BFG 7800gt's without her knowing. She knows now but thinks they were £100 each. :D If she ever finds out how much i have spent in the past six months i am dead. :eek: Good job we have seperate bank accounts.

Someone on here actually has one of the Mobile 4000+ cpu's and got excellent clocks from it but i can't find the thread.
