Hi all, I've just got back from my trip to Mull. Not the best visit in terms of weather (5 out of 7 days with full on wind and rain) but I managed to get a few shots in the brief spells of ok weather - mostly stock shots, although my main species to photograph was Otters and in that respect the holiday was a great success!

And you can see a few more shots of other species and read a little about the week in general HERE.

Love the otters! I'd jump at the opportunity to get up close (well, relatively) like that.

Shame the weather wasn't a bit kinder to you :(

What you on about, that is a good day :p

Shame there was something blurring the foreground on the first otter pic. Quite like the two bird shots and the rainbow shot isn't sitting right with me for some reason :(

Thanks guys :)

Derek, the first Otter is a crop from a shot that showed more of the environment but for web size I cropped in closer to get the detail in the Otter. In the context of the original image you can see it's OOF foreground rocks and adds (IMO) to the feel of the shot. It does look a little odd on the crop though I must admit.

As for the rainbow, that's why I don't shoot many landscapes lol

I know what you mean about the otter shot, it, dare i suggest this, gives an almost candid feel to the image. you're there invading its environment but you're trying to keep out of the way. oh my god you're an otter voyeur!

As for the rainbow, i think its since around the rainbow itself, although generally grey and murky which is how it would be I'm just confused a bit as to how (filter / PP) the left hand side is so dark blue.

Great shots, I love the bird flying towards the camera, looks like he's on a mission straight for you!

Absolutely no processing at all other than levels...the blue was actually there just like that, it was really weird, which was why I took the shot lol

Really great shots of the Otters, I'm going to hopefully give these a go inbetween doing the puffins in Shetland next month.

Really like number 2,

You don't half get about a bit!! lol. I really need to try getting further afield more often. Wish I lived a bit further up than London, all the good stuff is miles from me!
