A video Converter

I would like to ask the educated masses of OC if any of you would kindly suggest a program that could convert FLV video files to AVI video files, I did search google and looked at a few, but can't decide which would be good to try, or even which would be safe to try!

Handbrake is popular but whether it will do what your asking, I've no idea.

Sadly Handbrake only converts to MP4/MKV. Why the AVI format OP?

I use AVS4YOU video converter. Does a great job with lots of formats.

The licence is cheap considering all the extra software there is to download and install, including a nice video editor.

I've found Xilisoft Video Converter can do pretty much anything.

As Orcvader asked, why you converting?

I use video converter from AppGeeker. It's nice and supports multiple video formats.

Thanks for the reply guys, the .avi is because its he only non dvd format my dvd player will play

Ok, in that case, I'd be tempted by transcoding to dvd format, like Convert X to DVD. It's made by VSO.
