A Wii game wins best graphics at E3 2010

In a way I kind of support it.

Most of the other games whilst they look great, we pretty much seen them before.

As already mentioned, it comes down more to the subject of art style.

Hell, I much prefer to look at bright cartoony colours than drab dull ones with massive shades of grey or brown.

Lovely graphics, it's just perfect for the game and the little details are brilliant.

Obviously won't be to everyone's liking though :p

Think "Best Graphics" is a hard one to judge ny itself, some would say that games with great technical graphics, such as high AA great textures etc etc should win. Others will say its down to the art and design shown, TBH both are correct thats why some places do best technical and best art for graphics. Just stops all the arguements between both sides of the graphics fence.

All the other games are practically shooters so they could have been placed in their own category of "Best graphics for a shooter E3 2010 blahblahblahblah". :p

Well, it's certainly pretty and uses some pretty awesome effects, and all while using the least powerful hardware of the three big consoles, award well deserved.

I dunno what game it is or seen the video since I am at work. But it is a smart idea by GT, if for no other reason that it will be controversial and get some site traffic.

Never been a believer than big flashy games instantly equal the best.

To me Kirby looks fun, original and simple, which i think is a good thing as thats often what makes some of the best games.

First comment on that gamespot page makes me laugh a bit. Killzone, GT and Crysis innovative? Not really, maybe a few years ago you could play that card, but the formula for those sort of games has been laid out, and now they're just refining them.

Kirbys taken it's art style in a new direction, something which i always appreciate with Nintendo. Although, where's my Pikmin 3 please :(.

TBH when I saw Kirby's Epic Yarn I had a huge grin, loved the art style, fits the game perfectly, and looks great.

Big flashy graphics have all been done to death.

Kirby stands out because it's something different, has beautiful animation, great colour scheme, and just looks gorgeous.

Nintendo have already got the motion capture crap out of the way so they can focus on other things like graphics whilst sony and microsoft are messing around with arcade motion capture rubbish.

When I first saw the Kirby footage show up in that video, I thought how can it be competing against them, when I've seen more artistic looking games look nicer, for example somebody pointed out Little Big Planet.

Then when I actually thought more about it, how exactly do you pick a clear winner between the likes of Gears of War 3, Killzone 3 and Crysis 2. Not to mention they are all sequels and based on previous game engines with obviously a few tweaks. There is no way you can really easily just call it, so the whole thing is pretty silly.

OK so I'll agree, it may have some decent artisic elements to it..But whatever way you dress it up, it fails because of the hardware....

480p just doesn't cut it. Anything over a 42inch and it just becomes blurry and soft.

It'll still look completely naff on a decent sized LCD/plasma.....
