A Windows update causing problems?

I installed some Win 7 (64bit) updates the other day and since then (i think) i've been having trouble...

When i shutdown, it just hangs then eventually reboots. But it wont boot properly, once i restart a 2nd time, it says it had a BSOD..

My windows update panel never loads either, just sits there thinking...

No restore points :/ turned them off for SSD.

ok windows update randomly loaded this time.. i uninstalled the last update to some .net framework thing i installed 5 days ago. gonna see how it goes...

I had this shortly after Windows 7 was released, had to remove the update as you did but it worked next time a round.

i think it may have been the ATI drivers.... i've uninstalled the latest ones and gone back to 10.09

Thinks seem back to normal, touch wood.

Updating graphics or sound drivers over Windows Update is almost certainly going to cause sleepless nights and hair loss.
