A worthwhile upgrade?

So, the taxman was very kind to me today and gave me some money back. So it's that time of year for an upgrade. Unfortunately i haven't been keeping up on the hardware side of things. Basically i have just over £500 and all i really want is a CPU, Mobo & Ram.

Here are my current specs
AMD 1055T
Asus M4A89GTD-Pro
Corsair XMS 12800
ATi 5850

I don't have many complaints about my current build, it does what i need it to. Though i have had to overclock for games like Skyrim & BF3. So the upgrade i had in mind was this:

So basically i'm wondering if it would be a worthwhile upgrade? I plan on getting another ATi 5850 sometime after xmas and crossfire them. Even though i don't play as many games as i used to, i still like to have a nice system available...

So, critiques, suggestions are very welcome.

Cheers :)

I'm not a fan of spending huge amounts on gfx cards tbh. Usually mid-range cards suit me fine, but i think that stems from years ago spending £500 on a card only to become obsolete a year later. And since i do more than gaming, lots of encoding/compiling etc. Which is why i was leaning towards a stronger cpu.

Haven't got an SSD yet, but aren't hard drive prices through the roof at the minute? Or does that not affect SSD's?

Harddrive prices haven't affected SSD's they have remained the same price, maybe aa touch cheaper in some circumstances with deals on certain products.

How about getting a CPU cooler and pushing the FSB up to overclock your CPU?

Add a 120GB SSD

Put a 6950 in to replace your 5850 (sell this)

And thats about £395 maybe less.

Oh I just meant that HD prices have jumped lately due to natural disasters in the far East, or at least that's what my local PC shop says. But it looks like SSD prices are pretty normal in comparison.

I've got my CPU overclocked to 3.8 at the minute.

Hmmm, doesn't seem like a bad option tbh. I'll have to look at some benchmarks.
