so, after a while of running my HD 5830 it was sold in a rig with an i7 as he wanted a dx11 capable gpu, i then went to a gtx 295 just as it was going cheap, i liked the way it looked , but it was cheep for a reason and very badly refurbished (temps hitting 105 degrease after less than a minute of furmark. then 4 days later only one of the two gpu's was functioning, i sent that back and got a refund, and since i had sold my spare card (HD 4850) in another rig then i was back to my only pci gpu, a nvidia gs 240.

Now, this is the bit that actually may interest people. One night, as always i was stupidly browsing ebay.. looking at faulty tat, when i noticed a 3gb radeon 7950, in no way had it been tampered with in any way, it was vtx branded, so i got the serial number and after several emails vtx decided they would accept a rma. so i went for it, put a £150 bid on it and woN!
hurrah!, i finally have a good gpu, new gen. but then all went **** up. i received a wii remote attachement in mistake. turns out they sent my parcel to the wrong person, who would not make any reply's.

so im now left £150 short and a item worth 99p...
So i contacted the seller, and he sent me a fully working 7950. again.... to the wrong adress. it had now been three weeks, i was getting frustrated.
i kept emailing them, and today in the post i received a fully working asus 7950 DCII. all that power for £150. PURE WIN!

oh god.

Reading that it does sound like a win... eventually. But this will still find a way to go horribly wrong.

Nice one ZZZAC, Very happy for you that you have seemingly had a winner on this one! I don`t think I have ever read one of your threads where I have not been truly entertained and been left with a :D:D !

Well done ZZZAC.

Now, as i've said to you countless times, your luck WILL run out.

You're 15. You'll take this to your head and get cocky and then you'll **** up again.

quit whilst you're ahead, get out of this nonsensical ebay business and get your head back to the books now before it's too late. You have plenty of time to get good GCSE's. Focus on your education before going off gallivanting to your parents whenever you **** up with ebay.

Don't take this the wrong way; it's for your own good.

There. I tried.

This is very true ZZZAC and words that you should listen to..........But will you?

Always interests me how, online, older people are so quick to tell young people how to act.

This will give my age away somewhat, but that's the only reason why I hesistate to disclose my age in online communities.

I've been in online communities before, and after I disclose my age, I get treated differently, it gets annoying.

edit: In MMO guilds and the like, it's especially funny how you find these older people who will get annoyed when they're being told what to do by someone younger. Not sure how common this is though.

I think you best to reserve judgement unless you have read all those others topics of ZZZAC. In this case people got nothing against young people...but more about the particular young person not listen peoples' advice. The way that ZZZAC buy things from the bay is like people with gambling problem...he get lucky once or twice, but then got may be 5 times the amount of bad things happening to him in return. Despite people telling him to stop, he just keep going anyway.

I'm not usually so condescending. I hated it too.

I make an exception for ZZZAC, and purely for ZZZAC. He's ****ed up so much it hurts.

I don't care to defend him because he's young but now that we're specifically concerning this with him; do we actually know if he has been losing money or if he's sacrificing parts of his life to feed this addiction?

But yeah, I'm not really defending ZZZAC, I'm just curious about prejudices over age. I was wondering if anyone else had noticed similar behaviour of older people, specifically in online communities like MMO guilds.

That's understandable, I've not seen him before, but his thread title was obnoxious and I CBA to read his post entirely because it was less coherent and readable than I am willing to put up with right before going to sleep.

Maturity is far more important than age. You could probably find plenty of 13 year olds that are much nicer to deal with than some adults.
