Morning all,
(4690k, maximus ranger vii, 3 sata SSDs, windows 7)
So for the last 3 mornings when i boot my PC i get nothing on the monitor, cant get to BIOS, and Q-code shows A2.
The first morning I looked it up, as you do, and saw IDE detect. Assumed that it must be a sata drive problem. I unplugged all three drives and rebooted. I went into BIOS and everything looked normal, AHCI mode, fast boot off etc.
Plugged in just the boot SSD and got to windows login. Rebooted. Added the second SSD and got to windows login. Rebooted. Added third, got to login and used the pc with no issues for the whole day.
Yesterday once i got the A2 code, i unplugged the three drives, booted to bios, shutdown, plugged in the three drives, booted to login and went on for the rest of the day.
This morning, A2 again. Did the the unplugging trick, same as before, and logged into windows. Then i shut down fully to see if it would happen again. Went for breakfast, came back, and it boots into windows with no issue!
So for some reason, something seems to happen overnight that doesn't happen in 20 mins while i eat breakfast, that produces this A2 error that can be temporarily fixed but is going to get very tedious very quickly.
Anybody got any suggestions?
