So I decided to head to Brighton for the afternoon today and I was travelling on the A23 towards Brighton when I noticed a mobile camera van pointing at my lane from the other side of a bridge.

I had automatic cruise control set at 74mph and my sat nav indicated 71/2mph.
The conditions were clear and not very busy. Will they allow their tolerances of 10% and 2mph over?

On the Sussex police website, they follow the guidelines of 10% but allow 3mph over.

Am I worrying for no reason?

Hi there

No idea to be honest but just over a week ago there was a camera can on the island of dual carriage way, van looking at 4 lanes, 50mph limit, I was accelerating from 50mph up towards 60ish gently, spotted it and slowed down.

Still not had a letter yet, keeping fingers crossed it was either not pointing at my lane or I was not considered speeding.

I used to commute to Brighton, I've seen them many times in that spot. Hopefully they don't take it further

If it's a 70 limit, Not sure why're you're worrying. You're under the 10% tolerance.

At first i assumed the A23 was only going to be a single carriageway, at which point 60+6+2/3 would put you a little over.

Twice in the last few months I've seen a camera van set up in a layby around here.....right next to a speed camera

Most pointless place ever?
