Hello, i have a 51 plate a3. I was thinking about souping it up a bit. at the moment it has the standard plastic sideskirts at the bumpers and side of the car. where can i get metal ones for it.

Also was thinking of putting some nice alloys on there, wot do u guys rekon will look nice on there.

And lowering it? how much will it cost?
 
yeah if i wanted to do that then i would, obviously thats not a option hence the OP...

its a 1.8, read carefully... it looks nice as it is but i want it to look nicer. also would de catting it make it ne faster, gonna put a K&n on it too.

that quote right there epitimises exactly what janesy posted though., why not buy one of those resitors off ebay and gain an extra 40BHPPPPPPZ too.


On a serious note, just spend the money on a plethora of cleaning equipment and make her shine :)
 
Is it the 1.8, or 1.8T?

And when you say plastic bumpers, do you mean they are black unpainted ones or what?
 
1.8 SE non turbo. nah bumper is painted blue like rest of car but the bottom parts r black plastic.
 
I see, you cant get metal ones (they would only slow you down anyway!) but you can get your current ones colour coded. Try some alloys that come as standard on higher spec/more recent A3s, maybe lower it too should look fine then
 
colour coded how m8, the black bits r plastic. alloys yeah i was lookin at some s3 alloys and as far as lowerin goes i just need the springs rite?

Any bodywork place ill be able to colourcode your plastic bits, the rest of the bumper will be plastic too, not just the black bit.

Ypu can just use springs, but if they give too much of a drop it wil knacker your dampers sharpish, either coilovers, or strut/spring combo would be best
