Hi,

I'm looking for a good all in one A3 printer. I need to print my CAD drawings in A3 as A4 is too small. Be nice to print photos as well.
The main thing for me would be the cost of the ink as I'm using an A4 cannon at the moment and I go through a lot of ink for not much printing. I will mainly be scanning A4 and copying A4 as well.
Any suggestions would help a lot.
Thanks

Cheapest to buy I think would be the HP officejet pro 7720. Dad has owned 3 A3 Multifunction printers over the last few years & I've had to deal with them when they've gone wrong. HP ones consume a LOT of ink to clean the heads & the cartridges are not cheap. Brother one was OK but they are pricey to buy.

I just picked up a Brother MFC-J6930DW; full A3 print, scan, copy. It doesn't have the full duplex ADF but that's ok. It was a lot more than the HP BUT it is way better from my testing, quality of print is great and its fine with 3rd party catridges which the newest HPs are not. Bought it for mine and the missues various CAD stuff (Autodesk AEC & ArchiCAD/Revitt). Its a pretty chunky unit and not the most attractive but very happy so far.

Pretty good actually. It's seems to have good print quality and the other functions are great... Best thing is that aftermarket cartridges are cheap and working compared to HP.

Downside is the software just isn't as refined as hps and I've had it struggle to install after a messed up uninstall.

I've got a Brother, although it's a few years old..

Mostly OK, but the auto paper selection is broken.

One tray has A3, the other A4, and auto paper select always gives A3, no matter what paper size in word, Acrobat etc :/
