Hi, i'm currently using a corsair A50 cooler and would like to get temps down a little....would the A70 reduce my temps or will I be wasting my money?

My A50 temps are as follows using core temp
idle average 35c across all 4 cores
load average 66c all 4 cores

I am aiming for 28c-30c idle and 55c-60c load. Would the A70 be able to achieve these temps?

My system is Asus P8Z68 Deluxe, Intel core i5 2500k @ 4.60ghz, 8GB kingstone hyperX grey ddr3, Corsair A50 cooler, Antec 902v3 case, GTX 580 Graphics and OCZ ZX series 1000W power supply.

Idle temps could be a touch lower but there's nothing to worry about with the temperatures you have now. Load temps are the most important and they're fine.

Save your pennies.

I have my 2500K @ 4.5GHz with an A70 and idle temps are 26-29 degrees and running Prime large FFT's temps never go above 64 degrees. Your temps are reasonable though.

I have an A70 the fans even at reduced speed are VERY noisy, I ended up sticking an Akasa Apache on it (an extra tenner) so keep that in mind. I also am now not a fan of the direct contact heat pipes, they are too fiddly, if I was to go back now I would take the extra £15 in my pocket and put it to a Nocturna or similar.

Don't get me wrong tho the A70 is a good cooler, I just think there are better for not much more.

What are you guys thoughts on the cooler master v8 and how good is this cooler?

Have looked at the siver arrow and the colour is awful, I have a black theme going on and don't want white, cream or any other light colours cause i'm using antec 902 which makes it all very visible.

What other good coolers would you recommend? I like the look of the cooler master v6 GT too but is it any good?
