Hello guys,

Just wanted to ask this because I can never seem to get a definitive answer.
What is the difference between A55, A75, A85X and A88X FM2/+ Chipsets?
As I understand it, the higher you go, the more USB's, SATA (Ports and Speeds), Crossfire/SLI Support and more features.

And Lastly, Does it apply to the same method on AM3/+?
760G, 970, 990X and 990FX?

Thanks

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

On FM2 A55 is the budget end and doesn't have Sata 3. The rest is basically as you say. More ports and better features as you go upwards.

Thanks for the reply!
Is 760G the A55 Chipset for AM3+? and why do the mATX AM3+ Mobos always have the 760G Chipset?

760G is the cheap chipset for AM3+ and is quite dated now. It's not really a good match for the likes if Bulldozer and Piledriver cores. Never really checked the AMD matx boards, but as you say, they seem to be all 760G. I suppose AMD thinks that anyone wanting a SFF rig should be going down the FM2 route.
