I can get my PC to take my 3000+ (1800Mhz) to the BIOS at 3600Mhz...

It shows it in the CPU config when i set FSB to 400 and memory to 200...

after POST it fails to load the next screen, however droppnig the multiplier to half so the the CPU is running within Spec Mhz (1800) shows its my motherboard letting me down.

All of this at 1.55v on a venice core.

Have i got a wonder core, or is this just the ASUS board not applying the clock until after post?

temps on this core @ 2700 idle in windows with 800 RMP Big Typhoon is only 40 degrees....

when you save the settings, they are not applied till next re-boot.

it sucessfully reboots!

its hardly searing hot for running over 1ghz overclock!

thats what im asking..

in the bios i set multi to 9, FSB to 400, HHT to 2x and it posted.

ram divider was set to 1/2, so it ran at 200 (DDR400).

im guessing the OC isnt applied till after the HDD detection is finished and the next screen loads (when my pc locks up).

I think im being held up by my motherobard, its mardy after 300FSB and voltage options are WEAK.

im 100% certain its just the way the ASUS board applies the overclock.

wondering now what new to board to geto or just get AM2 or wait for conro, so many choices!
